I am an Associate Professor in the Department of International Relations at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. 

I received my LL.B. from the Hebrew University and practiced law in Jerusalem before completing my PhD in Political Science at UCLA.

My research has been published in PNAS, American Political Science Review, International Organization, and Comparative Political Studies, among other outlets. My book, Regular Soldiers, Irregular War (Cornell University Press), examines how small-unit dynamics shape patterns of military violence and restraint. It received the Giovanni Sartori Best Book Award from APSA’s Qualitative and Multi-Method Research Section. My more recent work turns to protest and nonviolent resistance - how race, gender, and partisan identity shape who is heard when people mobilize for change.

In 2025, I received an ERC Consolidator Grant to study how polarization shapes civil resistance. My work has also been supported by the Israel Science Foundation.
